Poem: Embrace

Embrace Desperate and scared That’s a a recipe for trouble A dangerous state To find even the most gentle Person who ever lived Cornered and coiled to strike That is where Jesus finds Those He seeks To draw out of shadowy places Into a light that doesn’t Come from the sun That comes from the One Who calls to us In our desperate places Meeting us there When all appears hopeless Alone and closest To ending it all There is Jesus, Scarred hand stretched around To pull us close Into an embrace Where love is all there is Once we let Him into our space Down in the darkness In desperation and fear Jesus waits to enter Into our dangerous space To meet us there And draw us out No place is too dark Nothing is so bad Jesus will walk on past He always stops, stay And holds on with His loving embrace
