How Long is God’s Patience

From God’s promises to Abraham

And to the nation God formed from him

The measure of God’s enormous patience

Is not a minute, an hour, or a day

Not a year, or even a decade

The measure of God’s enormous patience

Was fourth-two generations

That’s eleven hundred years of waiting

That’s the measure of God’s patience.

I’m pretty sure we all hate waiting. We even hate being in rooms we call waiting rooms. It’s really a lack of patience on our human part. God is patient. Let Him Who will wait 1100 years be the model for my patience, for my ability to wait.

That is my prayer. Will it be yours?
