Poem: Be Free

Be Free Why do you cling To the very thing That sinks you Beneath the waves Why do you hold tight To the pain that Cuts you deep Makes you bleed Why do you grasp The fear that shakes You to your core Til you can’t take anymore Why do you search In the cold darkness For answers waiting In the warm light Let go of all That holds you back What hurts you in the dark Is not worthy of your heart Stand up tall, shed it Leave it all behind And soar high In the light, be free
