Poem: Waves Crash

Waves Crash The ocean tides come in The tides recede, they cycle Water swells and moves Until it meets the shore Where the waves crash Tumbling, hitting everything In their path indiscriminately Just the same way Success comes and goes Some waves rise higher Some crash harder No matter how big the wave If it’s made of water Success or hope Or anything else All waves still crash Some bash into sand Washing up on a beach Others smash into rocks The sand gives way The rocks stand firm In the same way The world takes the hit Of the crashing wave Giving support like sand That just washes away God is like the rocks He stands firm Reshaping the wave Sending it back To build up again Ready to catch The next crashing wave
